Falcons Perfect in December

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The CUW ACHA team finished their weekend series with the No. 14 Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons finished December with a 4-0 record and a 30-5 goal differential.

The Blue and White finished with a 5-2 victory.

The flock started the scoring in the first period with a goal from senior Jacob Palmerio (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.). Palmerio was assisted by senior Thomas Dyball (Papillion, Neb.) and sophomore Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.).

The Blugolds netted a goal in the first period as well to tie the matchup heading into the second period.

The Blue and White started off the second period with three goals all coming within the same five-minute major powerplay. Dyball scored the first with assists from senior Sam Weiss (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and junior Ian Malcolmson (Waukesha, Wis.). Weiss netted the second goal of the period shortly thereafter with assists from Malcolmson and senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.). Senior Lucas Hefty (Oregon, Wis.) netted the final Falcon powerplay goal with assists from Palmerio and senior Rex Sttaudacher (Yorkville, Ill.).

The Falcons finished off the second period on a high note with a goal off the stick of senior Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.). Gregor was assisted by junior John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.) and sophomore Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.).

Senior Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) recorded 28 total saves in the matchup.

The Falcons say goodbye to the rest of 2022 and will be back in action on January 6 and 7 against MSOE inside the Ozaukee Ice Center.
