Falcons Remain Nationally Ranked
MEQUON, Wis. - The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) released its regional and national rankings on Thursday afternoon and the Falcons remained high in the polls.
The 23-5-1 Falcons sit at No. 3 in the Central Region behind No. 2 St. Thomas and No. 1 Lindenwood. In the national polls, the Falcons remain No. 7 after moving up from No. 8 in the initial poll.
Both of the remaining Falcon opponents appear in both national and regional rankings with DePaul, this weekend's opponent, ranking No. 6 in the region and No. 21 in the nation. St. Thomas, the Falcon's final opponent of the regular season, ranks No. 2 in the region and No. 4 in the nation.
The Falcons aim to forego the regional tournament with an auto-bid into ACHA Nationals with a top-two placement in the final regional rankings. This means that both matchups have large implications for their future.
The Falcons have four regular-season contests remaining with a home and home against DePaul Friday and Saturday night and a home series next weekend against St. Thomas.
