MEQUON, Wis. – Defense was the name of the game on Saturday. The Falcons and Tommies skated to a 0-0 tie on Saturday afternoon. The tie sends CUW to 26-6-1 on the year.
Saturday marked the first time in program history that a goal was not scored in a game.
Senior Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) posted 41 saves on Senior Day.
St. Thomas held a 41-35 advantage in shots on Saturday.
Junior Ian Malcolmson (Waukesha, Wis.) led CUW with seven shots.
Senior Sam Weiss (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) won 13 faceoffs and senior Jacob Palmerio (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) won 12.
The two teams settled the day with a shootout that lasted seven rounds. Senior Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.) and senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) scored, but St. Thomas won, 3-2.
CUW will compete for the Hap Cup next weekend.
