COLUMBUS, In. - The CUW ACHA hockey team opened their 2022-23 season with a matchup against the Hoosiers of Indiana University on Friday night.
The Hoosiers got the game rolling with a goal early in the first period.
The Falcons responded just past the halfway point of the first period with a goal from senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.). He was assisted by junior Michael Fradette (Victoria, B.C.).
The Hoosiers cracked the game open with five goals to push their lead to 6-1.
The Falcons cut into their lead with 10 minutes remaining in the third period with a goal from freshman Sam Weiss. Weiss was assisted by senior Alex Way (Ottowa, Ont.) and Kreuser.
The Blue and White look for a revenge game on Saturday afternoon in game two of the weekend series.
