Falcons Snagged at Sault Ste. Marie

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The CUW ACHA team finished their weekend at Sault Ste. Marie.

The Cougars claimed a 7-3 victory to split the weekend with the Blue and White.

The Cougars netted the first six unanswered goals which spanned the first and second periods.

Senior Thomas Dyball (Papillion, Neb.) opened the third period with a pair of goals.  The first was on a powerplay with assists from senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) and sophomore Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.).  The second was assisted by senior Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.) and junior Ian Malcolmson (Waukesha, Wis.).

The Cougars netted their seventh goal with five minutes remaining on the powerplay.

The flock recorded the final goal of the matchup with just under three minutes remaining off the stick of senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.) off assists from junior John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.) and senior Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.).

Senior Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) recorded 44 saves in his 60 minutes between the posts.

The Blue and White look to bounce back in a home and home against Marian on Friday and Saturday.
