Maycee Karpfinger Named AVCA All-American

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 40th annual All-America Teams of NCAA Division III on Tuesday morning.

The 2021 class includes 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 29 schools.

A sophomore from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Maycee Karpfinger was named to the AVCA Division III First Team.

"I want to thank my coaches, especially Janelle Katz for believing in me," said Karpfinger. "I also want to thank my teammates for supporting me. This honor could not happen without all of them."

She is the first Falcon to be named to the AVCA All-America First Team. CUW had three players earn the AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honor in Kaily (Moegengurg) Erdman in 2017, Stephanie Boehm in 2010 and Kate Roessler in 2009.

The Wisconsin native was named to the AVCA All-Region Team and the All-NACC Team over the past few weeks, as well as being named the NACC Offensive Player of the Year.

She finished the 2021 season with 268 kills, averaging 2.73 kills per set. She hit .350 on the season and recorded 100 blocks and 122 digs. Karpfinger also added 46 service aces from the backline.

Karpfinger was the lone NACC player to be on the All-America First, Second or Third teams. Aurora had two honorable mention selections.
