Katz Steps Down as Women’s Volleyball Coach

MEQUON, Wis. – Janelle Katz, after nine seasons as the Concordia Wisconsin women's volleyball head coach, has decided to step down.

"CUW will always hold a special place in my heart and coaching the volleyball team has been nothing short of amazing," said Katz." I feel so honored that I have had the opportunity to coach an incredible group of young ladies that could not only play ball but develop into wonderful young adults. I will forever be grateful for the years I spent here and wish the athletic department and volleyball program nothing but the best in the future. Always and forever, go Falcons!"

A national search for the next women's volleyball head coach will begin.

Katz took over the CUW program in the 2013 season. Since then she has claimed four NACC Regular Season titles and NACC Tournament titles in 2016 and 2017.

She finishes her career at Concordia with a 182-77 record. In NACC play, her teams went 215-110.

During her time as the Falcon leader, she has coached 30 All-NACC performers, including Kaily (Moegenburg) Erdan who was AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, AVCA All-Midwest Region and 2017 NACC Player of the Year; Ashley Jehlicka who earned AVCA All-Midwest Region Freshman of the Year honors in 2014 and Maycee Karpfinger who was the 2021 NACC Offensive Player of the Year and an AVCA All-Region selection.

Katz was also named Co-NACC Coach of the Year in 2014 and NACC Coach of the Year in 2016, 2017 and 2020.
