Maycee Karpfinger Collects NACC Honors

MEQUON, Wis. – After a dominant week of high-powered volleyball, sophomore Maycee Karpfinger (Wauwatosa, Wis.) claimed her first NACC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

The week saw matches at Lakeland and against both Dominican and Aurora.

In the match at Lakeland, Karpfinger posted five kills on 11 swings averaging a .273 hitting percentage for the match.  Along with her offense at the net, Karpfinger added offense from the service line with five service aces.  Karpfinger led the Falcons with 12.5 points in the 3-1 victory over the Muskies.  This matchup also saw her snag five assist blocks at the net.

In the Friday matchup with Dominican, Karpfinger led the Falcons to a three-set sweep with 17 total points.  Starting at the net, Karpfinger posted one solo block and four assist blocks as well as 11 kills on 18 swings.  She added even more aces to her week total with three in the matchup.

In the battle of the beasts, Karpfinger once again led the Falcons in a 3-2 victory over the Aurora Spartans to take away their undefeated status.  This was a match that saw Karpfinger hit .472 with a ridiculous 21 kill total on 36 swings.  Of course, she had to add some aces in there as well scoring two points from the service line.  The Aurora matchup would see Karpfinger score 27.5 total points adding one solo block and a game high seven assist blocks.

In total, Karpfinger scored 57 total points on the week.  Her stat totals looked like something out of a movie recording 37 kills on 65 swings, 10 service aces, two solo blocks, and 16 assist blocks.

Karpfinger looks to go even higher in a next week of competition that will see some solid opponents as the season begins to wind down and NACC tournament berths start catching peoples' eyes.
