Women’s Volleyball Secures Four All-NACC Honorees

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its All-Conference teams for women's volleyball on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons secured four All-Conference selections with Madelyn Alton and Maycee Karpfinger earning All-NACC First Team honors and Sophia Collins and Makenzie Vertz on the All-NACC Second Team. Maycee Karpfinger also claimed the NACC Player of the Year title.

Maycee Karpfinger

A sophomore from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Maycee Karpfinger is claiming the NACC Player of the Year title for the first time in her career. This is her second NACC honor, after being the NACC North Division Freshman of the Year in 2020. This is her second-straight All-NACC team selection. Karpfinger is the fourth Falcon to be named the NACC Player of the Year. She leads the NACC with a .389 hitting percentage. She finished the regular season with 248 kills, 94 blocks, 89 digs and 44 service aces. This is the second-straight year that a Falcon has claimed the honor, with Sophia Collins doing so in 2020.  

Madelyn Alton

A senior from Farwell, Minnesota, Madelyn Alton is an All-NACC First Team selection for the first time in her career after being an honorable mention selection in 2020. Alton anchored one of the strongest back rows in the NACC with 437 digs. She also added 105 assists, 18 service aces and a kill.

Sophia Collins

A senior from Lake Mills, Wisconsin, Sophia Collins is earning her second-straight All-NACC honor. Collins stuffed the stat sheet in 2021 with 191 kills, 63 digs, 27 blocks, one service ace and a .236 hitting percentage.

Makenzie Vertz

A senior from Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Makenzie Vertz is making her first appearance on the All-NACC Second Team. Vertz led the strongest statistical offense in the NACC with 540 assists. She was also dangerous from the back row with 22 service aces and 180 digs.  

Lauren Shroba

A freshman from Bolingbrook, Illinois, Lauren Shroba earned All-NACC Honorable mention honors. Shroba had 163 kills, 82 digs, 35 blocks and 12 service aces on the season.

The Falcons finished NACC play in second place with a record of 11-2.
