Falcons Fight Off the Wolves

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's volleyball team came out hot in its season opener, defeating the Cardinal Stritch Wolves with a score of 3-0.

The Falcons came out hot in the first set putting up five unanswered points that would see two kills from sophomore Maycee Karpfinger (Wauwatosa, Wis.).  The Falcons never looked back, holding the lead for the rest of the set.  The second set started in a similar way with four unanswered points that started with an ace by senior Makenzie Vertz (Mukwonago, Wis.).

The Wolves struck first in the third set scoring two points off the bat.  That would be the only lead of the night for the Wolves with the Falcons scoring five unanswered right away.  The Blue and White would then go on a 20-10 run to end the third and final set 25-13.
