Falcons Cruise at Concordia Chicago

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Falcons cruised to a 25-13, 25-18, 25-19 victory on Saturday at Concordia Chicago. The victory propels CUW to 11-3 on the year and 3-1 in the NACC.

The Falcons led wire-to-wire in the first set. Leading 11-8, the Falcons got separation with a 10-1 run. The serve of junior Jenna Chaussee (Chilton, Wis.) caged the Cougars. Chaussee landed three service aces in the run.

The Blue and White did not let the Cougars take the lead in the second set on Saturday. Jenna Chaussee led the attacks with five kills.

The Falcons battled with the Cougars in the third set and were tied at 11. The birds finished the set on a 4-0 run behind the serve of senior Makenzie Vertz (Mukwonago, Wis.).

Jenna Chaussee was all over the court and led the match with 11 digs, seven service aces and 11 kills.

Senior Sophia Collins (Lake Mills, Wis.) collected seven kills in the victory.

The Falcons will fly north to Lakeland on Tuesday.
