Women’s Hockey Journey End in NCHA Quarterfinals

GENEVA, Ill. – The CUW women's hockey season came to an end on Saturday afternoon in the NCHA Slaats Cup Quarterfinal round. The Spartans of Aurora clinched the series sweep with a 7-0 victory on the afternoon.

The Spartans exploded with five first-period goals on Saturday afternoon.

The Black and Blue added a power-play goal in the second period and another goal in the third period to advance to the NCHA Slaats Cup Semifinals against Adrian.

The Falcons won 35 of the 66 faceoffs with senior Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) winning 20.

The Spartans held a 36-28 advantage in shots on Saturday. Emily Reimche led the way for Concordia with six.

Freshman Kami McCardle (Jackson, Wis.) collected 18 saves on 20 shots.

The Falcons finish the season at 13-13-1.
