MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's hockey team closed the book on the 2021 calendar year on Saturday night against Aurora. The Spartans secured a 3-0 victory to send CUW to 7-5-1 on the season.
The Spartans struck early with two goals in the first two minutes of the game and never looked back.
Aurora added another goal in the second period.
The Falcons could not capitalize on five power-play opportunities.
The Spartans outshot the Falcons on Saturday, 46-28.
Freshman Brooke Gibson (LaSalle, Ont.) led the flock with five shots.
Freshman Kami McCardle (Jackson, Wis.) had 43 saves on Saturday night.
The Falcons return to action in January against Marian.
