Kami McCardle Named NCHA Defensive Player of the Week
MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced its players of the week on Tuesday afternoon. The NCHA announced Kami McCardle as the Defensive Player of the Week.
A freshman from Jackson, Wisconsin, Kami McCardle is claiming the honor for the first time.
She was making her collegiate debut, coming through with two victories in net and 56 total saves in a weekend sweep of Trine. The efforts were split relatively evenly, accumulating 25 in her debut, a 6-3 win over the Thunder Friday. She then came back with 31 more stops the next night, posting the 4-2 victory. For the weekend, she ended up with a .918 save percentage.
Morgan Olson of St. Norbert claimed the Offensive Player of the Week title.
McCardle and the Falcons return to action on Friday against Marian.
