Women’s Hockey Blasts Buffalo State

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The CUW women's hockey team took care of business in the first game of the weekend at Buffalo State with a 6-1 victory. The win sends CUW to 5-2-1 on the year.

The Falcons broke down the doors to the game with four goals in the first period. Freshman Katie Rahilly (Newberry, Mich.), junior Isabela Noyle (Baltimore, Md.), freshman Natalie Mackrell (Stuttgart, Germany) and freshman Brooke Gibson (LaSalle, Ont.) all lit the lamp in the first period.

Brooke Gibson struck again in the third period off assists to Katie Rahilly and freshman Erika Graham (Brighton, Mich.).

The Bengals broke onto the scoreboard in the third period on the power play.

Brooke Gibson completed the hat trick at the 15:10 mark of the third period.

Junior Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) collected 25 saves in the victory.

Freshman Amanda Bauer (Waunakee, Wis.) led CUW with three assists.

The Falcons will go for the sweep on Saturday.
