Men's Hockey falls 5-2 to St. John's

Box Score: SJU 5, CUW 2

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Concordia University Wisconsin's men's hockey team dropped a 5-2 contest to host St. John's University (Minn.) this evening.

The Johnnies (3-4-1) broke a 1-1 first period deadlock by outscoring the Falcons 3-0 over the second twenty minutes.

Sophomore Russell Johnson's (Monticello, Minn.) power play tally tied the score midway thru the initial session, but CUW (1-7-1) did not find the net again until freshman Lukas Allen's (Lakeville, Minn.) power play lamp lighter in the third period temporarily cut the Falcon deficit to 4-2.

Head coach Tony Hrkac's program was successful on 2-of-4 power play chances while holding the Johnnies to 0-for-5 on advantage opportunities.

SJU controlled the action throughout, however, out-shooting CUW 38-12.

The teams meet again Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
