Men’s hockey prepares for MCHA opener

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin men's hockey team has had a difficult start to the season, and the early stretch of tough opposition continues on Friday night when they host MSOE at the Ozaukee Ice Center. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Falcons have suffered lopsided losses in each of their first two games against state powers UW-Stout and St. Norbert College, and the Raiders are sure to provide another challenge for CUW.

Despite creating some good scoring chances against top-ranked St. Norbert on Tuesday, the Falcons have registered just one goal in two games.

They'll be looking to find the net against MSOE, who begin this season ranked 14th in the country and 2nd in the MCHA preseason poll.

The penalty kill unit has been strong for head coach Tony Hrkac, as the Falcons have killed off all but one of a combined nine power play opportunities over the first two games.

CUW will have to keep an eye on Raider forwards Jordan Keizer and Todd Krupa, who combined for 68 points a season ago.
