No. 3 Bulldogs Get Best of Falcons in NCHA Quarterfinals

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Concordia Wisconsin men's hockey team dropped to the No. 3 Adrian Bulldogs 10-1 on Saturday, falling in a contest that saw all of its scoring take place after the opening period.

The scoreless first period was largely due to the play of sophomore netminder Gabe Rosek (East Lansing, Mich.), who stopped all 16 shots faced in the frame. Concordia likewise built offensive pressure in the period, however, all shots on goal were similarly kept out of the net.

Defensively, the first period also saw the Falcons' penalty kill operate at 100%, nullifying all four power plays for the Bulldogs.

Adrian broke the tie just over a minute into the second period, notching the game's first goal on the power play. However, the Falcons responded right away, striking back just 28 seconds later. Sophomore forward Derek Humphreys (Spokane, Wash.) evened the game on the man advantage, scoring a goal on the rush off of an assist from freshman Mi-Kwan Tallman (Edmonton, Alta.).

The Bulldogs were quick to retake control of the game, finding the back of the net four times before the second period reached its end. After collecting another five goals in the third period, the scoreboard was left with a 10-1 reading.

The loss concludes Concordia's 2023-24 season.
