Luethe named NACC Women's Basketball Player of the Year

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin forward Katie Luethe was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, the league office announced Monday. All awards are voted on by head coaches.

Luethe (senior, Oshkosh, Wis.) was also named All-NACC First Team for the third-consecutive year. She led the Falcons to a 22-4 overall record, including a 17-3 record in conference play. Luethe paced the team with a 13.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.73 steals per game average. The experienced leader had two double-doubles, 18 double-figure scoring games and three 20-plus point performances.

She is one of three players in program history to score over 1,400 or more points and grab over 700 rebounds. Luethe is fifth all-time in NACC history for scoring and ninth in rebounding.

In addition, senior Camille Parsons (Urbana, Ill.) earned All-NACC Second Team honors after scoring 9.0 points and grabbing 3.8 rebounds per game. She also had a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio, which ranked third amongst NACC players. Parsons dished out a career-best 77 assists and recorded 10 double-digit scoring games.

Senior Anna Butler (Kewaskum, Wis.) and sophomore Megan Coenen (Green Bay, Wis.) were named All-NACC Honorable Mention, while rookie Tori Riechers (Cedarburg, Wis.) earned the All-NACC Freshman Team accolade.

Butler paced the Falcons with 82 assists and was second with 40 steals. She also averaged 6.7 points and 5.8 assists per game. Butler was the third-ranked guard in the NACC in terms of rebounds per game, which included 10 games with seven or more rebounds (three double-figure rebounding games).

Coenen shined in her first season as a starter, averaging 11.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. She shot a team-high and ranked fourth amongst NACC players with 54.0 percent (115-of-213) from the field, to go along with 27 steals. Coenen posted four double-doubles and scored in double-digits in 19-of-27 contests.

Riechers scored 10.3 points and grabbed 5.4 rebounds per game, which included 18 starts. The rookie shot 50.2 percent (106-of-211) from the floor, including 16 games over 50 percent. She had two double-doubles and had 14 double-figure scoring outputs.
