Landgraf has career game, Women's Basketball blows by Aurora

MEQUON, Wis. – Madelyn Landgraf drained five 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 points to lead Concordia University Wisconsin past Aurora University, 82-48, on Saturday inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

The Falcons (ranked second) will host No. 3 Alverno College on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament semifinals.

CUW (22-4) had the foot on the gas from the start and didn't let up, as it led 44-17 at the intermission and increased the advantage to 30 points midway through the second half. The Falcons outrebounded the Spartans 41-29, forced 20 turnovers and converted those errors into 21 points, and had a 30-9 differential in bench production.

CUW drained 25-of-27 free throws for a season-high 92.6 percent and also played all 14 players who dressed (10 found the scoring column). The Falcons 17 points allowed in the opening half was tied for the third lowest opponent output in a half this season.

Landgraf's (sophomore, Elkhart Lake, Wis.) five long balls were a career-best, as she also pulled down five rebounds. Freshman Tori Riechers (Cedarburg, Wis.) tallied 14 points off the bench, while sophomore Megan Coenen (Green Bay, Wis.) had 11 points and a career-high five assists.

Senior Camille Parsons (Urbana, Ill.) ended with 10 points, four assists and two steals, while senior Katie Luethe (Oshkosh, Wis.) finished with four points, six rebounds, two assists, three blocks and three steals.

AU (12-14) was led by Anna Roszkowski's 10 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Shay Jenkins and Neely Marks added nine and eight points, respectively.

The Falcons went on a 23-8 scoring run over 11:12 in the opening half to put the game out of reach for the Spartans. They had a 27-point lead at the break behind superb defensive play that saw AU shoot just 25.0 percent (7-of-28).

CUW's advantage in the second half never dipped below 24 points and peaked at 35 points with 31 seconds to play. It is the sixth time this season the Falcons have eclipsed the 80-point plateau and are now 13-0 when scoring 70 or more points.
