ANGOLA, Ind. – All good things must come to an end, and it did for the Falcons on Saturday afternoon. The fifth-ranked Thunder of Trine ended the 14th-ranked Falcons season on Saturday with a 7-2 victory. The Falcons finish the year with a program-record 40-5 record.
The Falcons found their way onto the scoreboard with a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Sophomore Jess Pozezinski (Lake Villa, Ill.) crushed the ball over the left-center field fence to score senior Sydney Erdmann (Geneva, Ill.).
Senior Nicki Becker (Brodhead, Wis.) had a strikeout in the start and senior Gina Followell (Romeoville, Ill.) closed the game.
The senior class of Katelyn Albrecht, Nicki Becker, Sydney Erdmann, Gina Followell, Gabbi Gaziano, Abby Kerrins and Ashley Zappa finish their storied careers with a 111-19 record.
