Followell and Haugland Claim Female Career Achievement Award
MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Department of Athletics has announced Gina Followell of the softball program and Karoline Haugland of the women's soccer as the 2022-23 co-Female Career Achievement Award recipient.
These two ladies will go down as two of the very best to wear the Blue and White.
A senior pitcher from Romeoville, Illinois, Gina Followell demolished the record book during her time at Concordia Wisconsin.
During her time at Concordia, the Falcons won four-straight NACC regular-season titles and two NACC Tournament titles. The Blue and White also made two NACC Tournament appearances, with trips to the NCAA Regional Finals in 2022 and the NCAA Tournament Super Regionals in 2023.
Followell finished her career as a three-time NFCA All-American. She claimed first-team honors in 2022 and 2023, with a second-team honor in 2021. She was a three-time NFCA All-Region First Team honoree.
The Illinois native is a four-time First Team All-NACC selection and a three-time NACC Pitcher of the Year, while also being named the NACC Freshman of the Year in 2019.
She finished her phenomenal career with a school and NACC record of 836 strikeouts and 74 victories and a 1.17 earned-run average.
A senior midfielder from Bergen, Norway, Karoline Haugland helped the women's soccer program soar to new heights.
Haugland finished as a three-time USC All-Region honoree with a first-team selection in 2019 and second-team honors in 2021 and 2022.
She was also a four-time All-NACC First Team selection and the 2019 NACC Freshman of the Year.
Haugland finished her career with 64 goals and 38 assists, with 12 game-winning goals.
The Falcons advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2019 and 2022 with Haugland after winning the NACC Tournament crown. CUW also claimed NACC Regular Season titles in the spring of 2021 and 2021.
