Claudia Utz Claims Female Athlete of the Year Honor

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Department of Athletics has announced Claudia Utz of the softball program as the 2022-23 Female Athlete of the Year Award recipient.

A senior catcher from Lockport, Illinois, Claudia Utz thrived on the diamond for the Falcons this year.

She finished the year earning an NFCA All-America Third Team selection. Utz was also a First Team All-Region selection and was named to the All-NACC First Team and the Oshkosh, Wisconsin All-Regional Team.

Utz helped the Falcons go 40-5 on the year and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament Super Regionals for the first time in program history and win the NACC title at 23-0 and the NACC Tournament title.

The Illinois native finished with 47 hits, 44 runs batted in, 37 runs, 11 doubles, nine home runs and three triples. She also threw out seven base runners behind the plate.
