
Softball Named ATEC/NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year
MEQUON, Wis. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its NCAA Division III Regional Coaching Staff Awards on Wednesday afternoon. The Concordia Wisconsin staff was named the Region VIII Coaching Staff of the Year. Regional (respective region only) and National Coaching Staff of the Year are voted on by member head coaches.
The Falcons are led by head coach Steve Crook and he was assisted by Dr. Patrick Steele, Jeff Hanick, Kelsey Bollon, and Taylor Kuske.
This is the first time that Concordia Wisconsin has claimed the honor.
The Falcons finished with a program record for wins in a single season with a 40-5 record. They advanced to the NCAA Division III Super Regional Tournament for the first time in school history. The Blue and White won the NACC regular season title with a perfect 23-0 record and the NACC Tournament title with victories over Aurora, Dominican and MSOE.
Representing each of the NFCA's 10 Division III regions, these respective coaching staffs – Simmons University (Region I), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Region II), University of Rochester (Region III), Rowan University (Region IV), Salisbury University (Region V), Berry College (Region VI), Trine University (Region VII), Concordia Wisconsin University (Region VIII), Coe College (Region IX) and Linfield University (Region X) – are now eligible for the ATEC/NFCA Division III National Coaching Staff of the Year award, which will be announced on June 19.
