Gina Followell Named NACC Pitcher of the Week
MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its Student-Athletes of the Week for Softball on Wednesday morning. Gina Followell was voted the NACC Pitcher of the Week by the athletic communication professionals within the league.
A senior from Romeoville, Illinois, Gina Followell is claiming the honor for the first time this season and for the 12th time in her career.
She opened the season with 12 strikeouts in a 5-4 victory over Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She did not allow an earned run.
On Sunday, she had eight strikeouts in a 7-2 victory over Wisconsin-Stout.
Followell and the Falcons return to action on March 11 in Tucson, Arizona at the TIG Sports Tucson Invitational Games.
