No. 12 Trine Tops Men's Hockey

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's hockey fell to the No. 12 Trine Thunder on Saturday, dropping 5-1 in the second contest of a back-to-back. Senior forward Nick Bowlin (Maplewood, Minn.) tallied the lone goal for the Falcons in the loss, notching his second score of the season.

Trine picked up the game's opening two goals, striking first at 7:03 into the first period and again in its final seconds.

The lead would be expanded to three goals 32 seconds into the second period before Bowlin cut it back down to two. His goal came at the 7:19 mark, off of assists from sophomore Preston Hazelton (Lake Orion, Mich.) and junior Seth Bergeron (Minneapolis, Minn.).

Trine recollected the three-goal advantage just over eight minutes later to take a 4-1 lead into the final twenty minutes of play. The Thunder struck again on the scoreboard in the third period, as Bobby Price collected his ninth goal of the season.

Senior netminder Liam McGarva (Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.) tallied a season-high 30 saves for the Falcons in the contest as part of a defensive presence that included a 3/3 performance on the penalty kill.

Concordia will next meet the 8-13 Marian Sabres on February 2 in a conference matchup.
