MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's hockey team helped raise awareness for mental health on Friday night. The 12th-ranked Thunder picked up a 5-1 victory on the evening.
Freshman Alex Ochitwa (Prince George, British Columbia) scored the lone CUW goal with a goal 65 seconds into the second period. The goal came off a turnover and assists from freshman Riley Klugerman (Aurora, Ontario) and sophomore Dain Sardelli (Hebron, N.D.).
The Thunder held a 46-29 advantage in shots on Friday.
Sophomore Gabe Rosek (East Lansing, Mich.) had 31 saves in the start and senior Liam McGarva had 10 saves in 15 minutes.
Dain Sardelli had six shots for CUW.
The two teams will battle for round two tomorrow.
