Gustavus Adolphus Grounds Falcons

MEQUON, Wis. – In their weekend finale from the Ozaukee Ice Center, CUW's men's hockey team was edged out by the Golden Gusties of Gustavus Adolphus College, 2-0, to drop 3-8-0 on the season.

Despite recording 16 shots on goal, compared to GAC's six in the first period, the Falcons trailed after one period of play 1-0.

The second period was played to a similar tune as the first, as the Golden Gusties found the back of the net and enjoyed a 2-0 margin heading into the final period.

CUW continued to fight in the third period, looking to tie the game. However, the comeback effort for the flock came up short, and Gustavus Adolphus held on to the 2-0 victory.

In the loss, the Falcons outshot the Golden Gusties 46-28, as sophomore Noah Roitman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.), freshman Riley Klugerman (Prince George, B.C.) and sophomore Dain Sardelli (Hebron, N.D.) all totaled five shots.

Meanwhile, sophomore goaltender Gabe Rosek (East Lansing, Mich.) tallied 26 saves while sophomore Derek Humphreys won 11 of 19 faceoffs.

The Blue and White will enjoy their Christmas break before returning to the ice in Oswego, New York, on Dec. 30th to take on the Oswego State Lakers at 7 p.m. EST.
