Women’s Soccer announces team awards

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team and head coach Ryan Middendorf announced the team awards for the 2019-20 school year.

Seven Falcons earned All-NACC honors in 2019. Kaeley Sterkel (Dana Point, Calif.), Ashley Yacks (Whittier, Calif.), Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway) and Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) claimed All-NACC First Team honors. Kylie Haarmann (Statesville, N.C.), Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) earned All-NACC Second Team honors. Karoline Haugland was also the NACC Offensive Player of the Year and the NACC Freshman of the Year.

Karoline Haugland was also named to the USC All-Central Region First Team and Allison McElwee was selected to the USC All-Central Region Third Team.

Coach Middendorf also awarded the five team awards.

The Team Fitness Award was given to Mackenzie Larsen (Appleton, Wis.) and to Karoline Haugland.

The Most Improved Player title went to Bria Wachowiak (Owatonna, Minn.) and Meikayla Korf (Whitewater, Wis.).

Selena Esten secured the Rookie of the Year honor.

The Most Valuable Player Award was given to Karoline Haugland.

The Falcon Award was handed to Ashley Yacks.
