Women’s Soccer remains unblemished in NACC
MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons remained unbeaten in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with a 2-0 victory against Benedictine. The Blue and White improve to 10-1-0 on the year and to 6-0-0 in the NACC.
"I was so impressed by many different aspects of the game today," said head coach Ryan Middendorf. "I thought our back line was particularly outstanding today. It was a great game for us as we enter into the challenge of our conference season."
The CUW defense did not allow a goal in three matches on the week and have not allowed a goal in 290 minutes of play.
Junior Kaeley Sterkel (Dana Point, Calif.) finished the shutout with four saves.
Freshman Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway) scored from 18 yards out on a back-footed pass from freshman Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.).
In the 71st minute, Selena Esten spun past her defender to add to the lead off a pass from junior Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.).
CUW held a 27-8 shots advantage on Sunday.
The Falcons return to play on Wednesday at Edgewood.
