Women’s Soccer leads Division III in five categories

MEQUON, Wis. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced its updated statistics on Monday afternoon. The CUW women's soccer program now leads NCAA Division III in five statistical categories.

"These rankings are another great honor for this team," said head coach Ryan Middendorf. "We have so many amazing athletes on this team that have helped reach these numbers."

The Falcons lead the nation in total points with 177 and points per game at 13.62.

The Blue and White have also peppered opposing nets with 16.38 shots on goal per game and 27.31 shots per game.

CUW also leads the nation with 49 assists.

Freshman Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway) leads all Division II players with 19 total goals.

The Falcons are second in NCAA Division III in assists per game (3.77), scoring offense (4.92) and total goal (64).

Karoline Haugland is also second in total points with 45, fifth in goals per game at 1.46 and sixth in points per game at 3.46.

Also in the top-10 rankings is junior Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) at No. 5 in total assists with 10 and sixth in assists per game at 0.77. Freshman Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) is eighth in total assists with nine.

The Falcons look to boost their numbers with three matches this week.
