Falcons pull away late for NACC win at Lakeland

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin used a 14-6 scoring run over the final six minutes of Saturday afternoon's NACC game at Lakeland to earn a 64-49 victory. The Falcons had four players in double-figures and forced 20 turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lakeland converted an and-1 play to get within five points with 6:11 left in the game, but Concordia Wisconsin buckled down and showed with they are predicted to win the league this season. The Falcons put together a 14-6 scoring run over the final minutes to pull away.
- Junior Baylee Barker (Oconomowoc, Wis.) scored seven of the Falcons' 14 points down the stretch, with four of her teammates also contributing to the offensive output. Meanwhile, the defense limited the Muskies to 2-of-6 from the floor and forced a pair of turnovers.
- Concordia Wisconsin began the game slowly by missing a jumper and turning the ball over twice, but their play quickly turned to success. They trailed for the opening three minutes and after taking the lead on a Brianna Wagner jumper, never relinquished the lead from then on.
- Wagner (senior, Fond du Lac, Wis.) continued her strong play to begin the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with three blocks and three steals.
- Senior Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) was efficient with 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting, while also grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing out three assists and stealing two passes.
- Barker added 10 points, three rebounds and three assists. Sophomore Clara Chambers (Darlington, Wis.) scored 10 points.  

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons led for 36:01, compared to the Muskies 2:11 in the contest. They also scored 19 points off 20 Muskie turnovers.
- Concordia Wisconsin shot over 40 percent in three quarters and began the game shooting 60 percent (6-of-10) in the first period.

THE OPPOSITION
- Maddy Doll had a double-double (14 points, 16 rebounds) to lead the Muskies, while Rachel Stankevich scored 11 points.
