Women’s Basketball controls NACC matchup at Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. – Concordia Wisconsin used its athleticism, size and experience to quickly separate itself from Rockford on Saturday during an 80-45 victory during NACC play inside the Seaver Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin outscored Rockford 25-8 in the opening quarter and never looked back during its largest margin of victory this season. The Falcons had 13 players find the scoring column, as they outrebounded the Regents 54-26.
- Senior Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) had a game to remember with 20 points and 14 rebounds in just 20 minutes of time on the court. The senior now has three double-doubles this season.
- Freshman Clara Chambers (Darlington, Wis.) drained a trio of 3-pointers and had 15 points, while junior Baylee Barker (Oconomowoc, Wis.) recorded 11 points and five assists in 16 minutes of work.
- Senior Brianna Wagner (Fond du Lac, Wis.) hauled in 10 rebounds and scored six points.
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Foster (Janesville, Wis.) played well with four points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block during 16 minutes as a reserve. Sophomore Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) scored six points and senior Elizabeth Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) tallied three points and six rebounds (three offensive).
- The Falcons shot 44.9 percent as a team and held the Regents to 33.9 percent. They hauled in 20 offensive rebounds and converted those into 18 second-chance points.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Concordia Wisconsin poured in 44 points in the paint, which is the third time they have scored 40 or more points around the bucket. It is also the second game in a row they have tallied 40-plus points in the painted area.
- The Falcons have won five games in a row and by an average of 22.4 points.

THE OPPOSITION
- Tajanae Key had 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and six steals in 25 minutes to lead the Regents.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin travels to Las Vegas, Nev., for non-conference games against SUNY Poly (Tuesday) and Adrian (Wednesday).
