Women’s Basketball picked to defend NACC title
WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin's Women's Basketball program was chosen to defend its title in the NACC Preseason Poll, voted on by the league's head coaches and athletic communicators.
The Falcons captured their second-consecutive NACC regular season title last year with an 18-2 record in league play (22-5 overall). They received 14 of the 24 first-place votes and 272 points in the preseason poll.
Wisconsin Lutheran was second with 258 points and five first-place votes, while Benedictine was third with 236 and three top nods and Lakeland was fourth with 223 and the remaining two first-place votes.
Concordia Chicago was fifth with 199 points, Alverno sixth with 152 and MSOE seventh with 134. Aurora followed in eighth with 123, Dominican ninth with 117 and Rockford 10th with 70. Marian (48) and Edgewood (40) filled out the final two spots.
The NACC's regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
