Preview: Women's Basketball in NACC Tournament Championship

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin will play Wisconsin Lutheran on Sunday at 3 pm in the NACC Tournament Championship game for a right to go to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The game will be played on the campus of Wisconsin Lutheran.

Concordia Wisconsin makes its second-consecutive trip to the NACC Tournament Championship game and sixth in the history of the NACC. The Falcons (20-6) have won seven-straight games by an average of 16.8 points. Saturday's victory over Benedictine gave them their third 20 win season in a row and their seventh in head coach Stacey Brunner-Jones's 14 years at the helm.

All-NACC First Team honorees Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) and Brianna Wagner (Fond du Lac, Wis.) lead Concordia Wisconsin in scoring at 14.8 and 13.8 points per game, respectively. Scharmer has 14 double-doubles this season and Wagner has netted 20-plus point five times.

Concordia Wisconsin has previously won NACC Tournament Championships in 2009 and 2007.

Wisconsin Lutheran, as the top-seed in the NACC, is the league-leader in field goal percentage (44.2), free throw percentage (73.1), fewest turnovers per game (12.5) and points allowed per game (47.5). The Warriors advanced to the title game after defeating Lakeland, 68-47, behind 29 points from Jen Dowden.

Dowden, who was named the NACC Player of the Year, leads the Warriors at 17.2 points per game, while Caitlin Knueppel and Coreana Carson score 14.8 and 10.7 points per game, respectively. Wisconsin Lutheran won both matchups this season against Concordia Wisconsin -- 58-49 on January 2 and 61-45 on January 20.
