Kelsey Bollon Earns CoSIDA Academic All-American Honors
MEQUON, Wis. – For the second straight year, Kelsey Bollon earned the prestigious honor as a selection on the Academic All-American Softball Team, selected by College Sports Information Directors of America. Bollon was voted to the 2022 CoSIDA Softball Academic All-American First Team on Tuesday.
"Receiving this honor means the world to me because it represents the passion that I have for both my education and softball," said Kelsey Bollon. "This award proves that the dedication to both was worth it in the end! I am very proud of this achievement and being able to represent CUW."
Last year, Bollon earned All-American Second Team honors from CoSIDA.
A senior from Orangeville, Illinois, Kelsey Bollon is the first CUW student-athlete in any sport to claim CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team honors. She also joins Jordan Johnson from the men's basketball program as the only two-time recipient.
Bollon posted a perfect 4.00 grade-point average at Concordia Wisconsin.
This season, Bollon finished the season with 45 hits, 10 doubles and a home run. She recorded 35 runs and 30 runs batted in. She also walked 12 times and stole two bases.
Bollon also earned NFCA All-Region honors in 2021, she also claimed All-NACC in 2021. She also finished with the fourth-best career batting average in program history.
Seventeen of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division III softball teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 13 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.92.
In addition to Bollon, three additional student-athletes are repeat selections on the Academic All-America® Division III softball team.
In May, she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. District VI is composed of schools from Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The 2022 Academic All-American® Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
