Gina Followell Claims First NACC Honor of the Year
MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) released its student-athlete of the week awards on Wednesday. Gina Followell was voted as the NACC Pitcher of the Week for softball by the league's athletic communications professionals.
A senior from Romeoville, Illinois, Followell is claiming the honor for the first time this season and for the sixth time in her career.
The Falcons' ace threw 15 strikeouts in the season-opening victory over St. Olaf on Sunday and only allowed three hits in the 5-0 win.
Delaney McRiley of Dominican was named the NACC Position Player of the Week.
Followell and the Falcons return to play on Thursday against Ripon.
