Softball Sweeps Final NACC Honors
MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its final student-athletes of the week for the 2022 season on Tuesday morning for the week of May 2-9, 2022, as selected by the league's athletic communications professionals. The Falcons swept the honors after winning the NACC Tournament title.
A senior from Romeoville, Illinois, Gina Followell is claiming the NACC Pitcher of the Week honor for the fourth-straight week, the sixth time this season, and the 11th time in her career.
Followell gave up just four hits while striking out 13 while leading CUW to a pair of 5-0 victories and the title at the NACC Softball Tournament. She scattered three hits with just two strikeouts in a semifinal win over Benedictine Saturday, then twirled a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the tournament final against MSOE.
A senior from Orangeville, Illinois, Kelsey Bollon is claiming the NACC Position Player of the Week title for the first time this season and for the first time in her career.
Bollon had four hits in five at-bats to lead CUW to the NACC Softball Tournament title. She also drew two walks, drove in a pair, and scored two times as the Falcons defeated Benedictine and MSOE by identical 5-0 scores.
The Falcons return to action on Friday in the NCAA Tournament against Roanoke.
