Softball Starts the 2022 Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW 2022 softball season starts on Sunday afternoon and the Falcons look to be a force once again with many key players returning and stellar newcomers. The Falcons open the season against St. Olaf and St. Catherine.

The Falcons are coming off a 31-8 campaign in 2021 where the Falcons were one of the first teams left out of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Blue and White won the NACC regular-season title with an 18-2 record. CUW advanced to the NACC North Division Finals.

Concordia not only returns two NFCA All-Region honorees in senior Kelsey Bollon and senior Gina Followell, who also claimed NFCA All-American honors and the NACC North Division Pitcher of the title but five All-NACC selections from 2021. In total, Concordia returns 18 from last year's roster.

Coach Crook also added eight new faces to the 2022 roster.

Steve Crook is in his 23rd season with the Falcons and enters the season with 464 victories with the Falcons.

The Falcons are projected to once again be in the hunt for a NACC title. In the NACC Preseason Poll, the Falcons are projected first. Ahead of No. 11 MSOE, Aurora and Benedictine.

CUW opens NACC play on March 26 at Alverno. The birds then host Aurora on March 27 for the first home games of the season.
