ADRIAN, Mich. – The fourth-ranked Bulldogs of Adrian advanced to the NCHA Harris Cup Semifinals with a 13-2 victory on Saturday to win the weekend series.
The Black and Gold scored the first two goals in the first period.
Sophomore Zach Brydges (Woodbury, Minn.) put the Falcons on the scoreboards in the first period when he split a pair of defenders on a breakaway after freshman Jason Tenezaca (Niles, Ill.) tipped the puck forward.
The Bulldogs then scored the first two goals of the second period in the first two minutes.
Freshman Mason Ausmus (Saline, Mich.) was set up in front of the net and lit the lamp off assists from sophomore Andrew Malek (Milwaukee, Wis.) and freshman Collin Kerchoff (White Lake, Mich.) for the final CUW goal of the season.
Adrian finished with a 58-20 advantage in shots on Saturday. The Bulldogs also took advantage of the CUW penalties with an NCAA record 10 power-play goals.
Freshman Dolan Gilbert (South Bend, Ind.) had 45 saves on the day.
Concordia ends the year at 4-22-1.
