MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's hockey team kicked off the 2023 portion of their season with a matchup against Lake Forest on Friday night.
The Foresters controlled the matchup with a 7-1 victory.
Lake Forest started with two goals in the first period.
They added three more in the second period including one on the power play.
The Falcons struck first in the third period with a goal off the stick of freshman Lucas Doran (Detroit, Mich.). He was assisted by fellow freshmen Jason Tenezaca (Niles, Ill.) and Grant Newcomer (McFarland, Wis.).
The Foresters tacked on two more goals to seal the deal.
The Blue and White head to Lake Forest on Saturday for day two of the series.
