Sabres Escape with an Overtime Goal

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Falcons battled for 63 minutes on Friday night in Fond Du Lac. The Sabres defended home ice with a 2-1 overtime victory to improve to 3-2-0 on the year.

The Falcons wasted no time getting on the scoresheet on Friday with a goal 78 seconds into the contest. Sophomore Zach Brydges (Woodbury, Minn.) scored from point-blank off tic-tac-toe passes from junior Nick Bowlin (Maplewood, Minn.) and freshman Dain Sardelli (Hebron, N.D.).

The Sabres tied the game in the second period on the power play.

Freshman Gabe Rosek (East Lansing, Mich.) continued to keep the Falcons in the game with some big saves.

The Sabres were able to hold onto the puck after a Sabres went down and snuck the puck in to win the game.

Gabe Rosek finished with 39 saves.

The Sabres held a 63-37 advantage in shots on Friday. Freshman Noah Roitman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) led the flock with five shots.

The Falcons look to level the series on Saturday night at home.
