Falcons Fall short at River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The CUW men's hockey team fell short in a battle of the Falcons on Saturday night at Wisconsin-River Falls. UWRF improved to 3-1-0 in the young season with the 4-1 victory,

River Falls struck first on Saturday with a goal in the first period.

Sophomore Zach Brydges (Woodbury, Minn.) tied the game in the second period off assists from freshman Dain Sardelli (Hebron, N.D.) And sophomore Nick Wieben (Mankato, Minn.).

River Falls held a 3-0 advantage in goals in the third period, with one empty-net goal.

Shots were 33-33 for the contests and the defenses killed off every power play.

Junior Liam McGarva (Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.) had 29 saves in the net.

CUW looks to bounce back in the NCHA opener on Friday.
