MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's hockey team finished the two-game series with Lawrence on Saturday night. The Vikings won a 2-1 victory to split the weekend series. The loss sends Concordia to 11-10-0 on the year and 6-8-0 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
The Falcons held a 12-7 advantage in shots in the first period, but neither team capitalized.
The Falcons struck first in the second period on the power play when Levi Carter found junior Derek Humpreys (Spokane, Wash.) open on the back door off a secondary pass from sophomore Riley Klugerman (Aurora, Ontario).
The Vikings scored two goals to take the lead into the third period.
The Falcons had an extra attacker on for the final few minutes and had some quality opportunities but could not capitalize.
Junior Gabe Rosek (East Lansing, Mich.) had 22 saves against the Vikings.
Concordia held a 30-24 advantage in shots on Saturday.
The Falcons were able to fight off both penalties on the evening.
