EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- To score 12 goals over a four game stretch would be quite the feat for any hockey team at any level. No. 4/3 UW-Eau Claire accomplished that in just one game after a 12-4 victory over Concordia University Wisconsin in Saturday's non-conference matchup at the Hobbs Ice center.
UW-EC (8-0-1, 5-0-1 NCHA) took a 2-1 lead over CUW (4-4-0, 4-2-0 MCHA) heading in to the second frame, but a barrage of six-consecutive goals by the Blugolds put the Falcons away for good. Jordan Singer, Kurt Weston, Andrew McCabe and Ross Anderson each scored two goals apiece for UW-EC, even though it only outshot CUW by four shots on goal, 42-38.
Freshman defenseman Ryan Jaremko (Anoka, Minn.) scored two goals for the Falcons while junior forwards Russell Johnson (Monticello, Minn.) and Dan Shilts (New Richmond, Wis.) each chipped in a goal.
The Falcons will face the Bluegolds again Sunday afternoon at the Hobbs Ice Center. The puck is set to drop at 2:00 p.m.
