Hebda named MCHA Freshman of the Week

MILWAUKEE – Concordia University Wisconsin goalkeeper Jake Hebda was named Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Freshman of the Week on Monday night, the league office announced.

Hebda (Firestone, Colo.) helped the Falcons earn their second-consecutive MCHA sweep with a 2-0 shutout on Friday – the second ever shutout in program history – followed by a 4-2 victory on Saturday. He recorded 28 saves during the opening matchup prior to stopping 22 shots on goal during Saturday's win. His 50 saves and .961 save percentage helped him earn his second-straight MCHA accolade.

It was the first time back-to-back MCHA series sweeps were earned and the first four-game winning streak in program history.

The MCHA weekly honor is the second of the season for CUW.
