Baseball falls once to St. Olaf, second game halted by rain

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Concordia University Wisconsin baseball team dropped its third straight game to begin its Florida trip Friday as they fell to St. Olaf College, 7-4. The Falcons and Oles began a second contest, which St. Olaf was leading 7-3 before being halted by rain in the 4th inning.

In the opening contest senior Daniel Mueller (West Bend, Wis.) recorded a two-RBI double for CUW, while junior Jay Kuczynski (Cedarburg, Wis.) added an RBI single.

Sophomore Tyler Adams (Jackson, Wis.) got the start on the mound for the Falcons in the opening game of the doubleheader as he took the loss. Final statistics for game one have not yet been provided.

The second contest saw St. Olaf jump out to a four-run lead before the rain came down, forcing the teams to finish just the one game. Mueller had an RBI single before the game was called. The Falcons and Oles may finish the game Monday, but that is yet to be determined.

CUW (0-3) will aim for its first victory tomorrow when they take on Elmhurst College. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EDT.
