Falcon stat of the week, by the numbers

STAT OF THE WEEK (1) – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Lacrosse team is headed to the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament for the first time in program history. The Falcons clinched their berth in the tournament by defeating Benedictine University, 13-1, on Saturday. CUW will have to wait for the results of this weekend's MWLC games before finding out who their first round opponent will be.

0 – Men's Tennis has yet to lose a singles match in conference play this season. The Falcons are 5-0 in NAC play in 2013 and will conclude their regular season schedule with four matches this week, beginning with Wisconsin Lutheran College on Wednesday.

.500 – Junior infielder Taylor Buuck has been a tough out for pitchers this season, as his on-base percentage through 28 games is .500. A main reason his success is the patience Buuck (Hillsborow, Ore.) has shown at the plate. He has walked 31 times this season and is one free pass away from tying the program-record for walks in a season.

2 – Sophomore Karli Tatum (Milwaukee, Wis.) set two personal records at the Cedarville Collegiate All-Corners Meet. Tatum placed third in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 11.9 meters and then followed that performance with a 26.16 meters discus throw. Tatum helped lead the Falcons to a seventh place finish at the meet.

3 – Freshman Amanda Ropiak has won three-consecutive singles matches for the Women's Tennis team. The three-match win streak for Ropiak (Franklin, Wis.) is the second longest of her career as she won six straight this fall. The streak also ranks as the longest current winning streak for CUW.

7 – Freshman attacker Marino Best (Nanaimo, British Columbia) scored a program-best seven goals as Men's Lacrosse defeated Benedictine University, 14-1, on Saturday. Best eclipsed the previous record which was six goals scored by three different players. He tallied the seven markers in seven shot attempts on goal, which tied the total number of shots on goal Benedictine took in the game.

13.5 – Softball is averaging 13.5 runs per game during its current eight-game winning streak. The Falcons have scored 10 or more runs in seven of those games, including a 23 run outburst against Mount Mary College on Monday. Senior Cara Landherr (Waukesha, Wis.) has paced the offense during the streak with six home runs and 26 RBIs.

21 – Freshman Tyler White ranks 21st in the triple jump after leaping 14.06 meters at the Cedarville Collegiate All-Corners Meet. White (Milwaukee, Wis.) won the event and scored 10 points for the team and it was his first time competing in the event during the 2013 outdoor season.

79 – Freshman Nina Puch (Des Plaines, Ill.) carded a 79 in her first round of the spring season at the Benedictine University Invite. Puch's round tied for the lowest of the tournament as she helped lead the Women's Golf team to a second-place finish. CUW has four more events scheduled before taking part in the NCAA Division III Championship, which begins May 14.

329 – Men's Golf shot a 329 in the third round of the NAC Championships on Monday. The 329 was the second lowest round shot by CUW in NAC Championship history. The lowest round (328) came on October 16, 2007.
