MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team fell short on Saturday afternoon on senior day. The Stars stand-alone now in first place with the 2-1 victory.
The Stars struck first with a pair of goals in the first half.
Senior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) scored the lone CUW goal of the match when she was collied with inside the box, in the 58th minute off an assist from freshman Autumn Snow (Cedarburg, Wis.).
The Falcons continued to threaten but could not find the equalizer.
Sophomore Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) had two saves on Saturday.
The Falcons finished with five shots, with two from Selena Esten.
The loss keeps CUW at 19 points and sends the birds to fifth place. CUW can clinch a spot in the NACC Tournament with one point.
CUW looks to bounce back against Edgewood on Wednesday.
