Women's Soccer Ties at No. 3 Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Falcons were able to earn a tie at No. 3 Loras on Wednesday evening. The 1-1 tie against the third-ranked Duhawks sends the Falcons to 2-0-1 on the young season.

The Falcons drew first blood when senior Jordan Lafferty (Surprise, Ariz.) sent the ball flying into the upper-left corner of the net on a free kick just outside of the 18-yard box.

The third-ranked Duhawks kept the CUW defense on their toes and outshot the Falcons, 34-5.

Freshman Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) posted a career-best 12 saves in the tie.

Jordan Lafferty, sophomore Carmen Rowe (Copley, Ohio, sophomore Isabella Rapp (Grafton, Wis.), senior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and freshman Autumn Snow (Cedarburg, Wis.) all had a shot.

The last time that the Falcons faced a ranked opponent, the Falcons defeated No. 17 Wisconsin-La Crosse, 2-1.

The Falcons continue their road trip on Saturday when they will face Denison on Saturday in Ohio.
